Handmade Recycled Cotton Doorknob Covers
These are just THE CUTEST! They're made to look like some vintage doorknob covers I found at an estate sale once, but they're newly handmade & crocheted from recycled cotton yarn.
Okay, so they do have a few pieces of plastic with the eyes & noses, but with proper care these should last a lifetime and eventually become 'vintage' for someone else!
Growing up in Minnesota, we saw these pretty often in winter- cute and functional for icy cold doorknobs!
SIZE & DESIGN
They should fit most doorknobs-- they slide over the top of the knob, and then around, for a tight fit without falling off. Opening stretches a little bit.
Knob covers measure approx: 3" wide, with the opening 1.5 to 2" wide. and 6" long, without including the hanging bell part.
End of Life
If damaged beyond repair, cotton thread can be composted. Remove plastic parts and send to Terracycle for recycling, or reuse in another crafts project. Metal bells can also be reused or brought to scrap metal recycling.
